This year\u2019s Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival went to Jonathan Glazer\u2019s adaptation of the famous eponymous novel by Martin Amis, who just happened to pass away on the day of the film\u2019s world premiere. The Zone of Interest, which more than a few people have called the absolute cinematic pinnacle of the year and a film that will undoubtedly be nominated for at least one Oscar, offers an intense look into the family life of Rudolf H\u00f6ss, commandant of the Auschwitz concentration camp. The film follows H\u00f6ss and his wife Hedwig as they build a comfortable and well-ordered life in a luxury villa with a large and carefully arranged garden surrounded by a high wall. Not once do we peer inside the infamous camp beyond this wall, and yet Glazer\u2019s unsettling and exceptionally original drama is one of the most intense cinematic experiences on the subject of the Holocaust and the banality of evil to have ever been made.\n\n\n\n<\/span><\/h5>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
